Grading:
Tests: Tests will be announced three to five days in advance. The day following a chapter test, the students will be able to earn half credit on problems they have missed, if they correct the problems. For example, if the student missed four problems and then corrected them, 2 points would be added to the test score.
Grading Scale:
100-93: A
92-85: B
84-75: C
74-69: D
69 & below: E
ALL graded assignments will be posted to FACTS, no later than a week after the assignments were due. The official and final grades for all assignments will be posted on FACTS NOT Google Classroom. As always, I encourage the students to ask questions about their grades as soon as they notice a discrepancy or problem,
Students will not receive full credit for late, missing, or incomplete assignments. If a student is not able to make a due date, they need to speak with or email the teacher. Students' absences will extend the due date in accordance with the OLOF handbook.
Binders will be graded each chapter.
Technology:
Technology will be used by the students and teachers daily. Students will be expected to have the Chromebooks charged and ready to use when asked to do so by the teacher. Students will need to join the math Google classroom to complete assignments. Students are expected to communicate through email, when necessary, with their teacher.
Homework:
Homework: Students should expect to have math homework almost every night of the week. The homework will be checked in class the following day. We will go over the answers as a class. Students have to make an attempt at all assigned problems to receive credit. Each assignment will be worth 2 points. The homework grade for the week will be put on Opt C every Friday. Late homework will not receive full credit. Students will be challenged to spend five minutes a day working on IXL.
Homework is provided to reinforce the concepts students learned that day. Homework will be given DAILY. Most assignments begin in class with guidance available and then students are asked to complete the rest for homework.
All homework and important assignment dates are reviewed and will be listed on the board to allow students to understand what is expected of them in advance. Students must write their assignments in the planners given to them by the school or one personally purchased.
Please check planners daily. Homework is not listed on my teacher webpage, but on the board daily, and is the responsibility of the students to keep track of each class day. Students are encouraged to speak with the teacher as soon as possible if they have questions or concerns about specific assignments.
